A Visit to the Zoo

Last year when I went to Australia, we visited the Melbourne zoo, it was great although we had a 40-degree heatwave, but the zoo was fun. First, we visited the orangutans who made funny faces at us. Next, we went to see the tigers, but these ferocious beasts were in their cave to beat the heat! Then, we into the butterfly house and were flabbergasted to see butterflies roaming free in the house. My father had a camera and took some pictures which I still admire today, we took a walk through a forest trail and saw Koalas, Thrushes, black swans end parrots all in their natural habitat of trees.

It was early afternoon, so we decided to have lunch, the food court was right next to the giraffes, so we had a good view of them. After lunch we wandered over to the reptile section, The snakes! There were vipers, milk snakes, coral snakes, mambas and eyelash vipers. We also went to see the frogs, but they took no notice of us because most of them were napping or catching flies. After that it was time to go home, it felt sad but after all I did have a great day!
